2010 Dec: Pharmahungary files patent entitled "stem-cell derived cardiomyocyte-based assay systems". The owners of the patent include members of the ES2HEART consortium sush as Biotalentum Ltd (consortium leading company) and Abiol Ltd. By this patent filing, the number of active patents increased to 3 in the IP portfolio of Pharmahungary Group. Another patent filing is expected in Q1, 2011. 2010 Dec: MMPharma consortium files patent application as a conclusion of a three-year research project. The primary focus of the research was MMP-2 inhibition by small molecules for anti-ischemic and myocardial infarction applications. However, the consortium successfully developed selective inhibitors for not only MMP-2, but MMP-9 and 13 as well, useful targets for treatment of various pathologies. The patent is owned by 3 private Hungarian companies of the MMPharma consortium: Pharmahungary (leader of the consortium), InFarmatik (a drug discovery company), and TargetEx (recombinant protein production and assay development CRO).
